Learn to avoid the 3 Ps with artist Ed Chesnovitch! Perfectionism leads to Procrastination, which leads to Paralysis. It happens to all of us, but learning to trust the painting process is key in advancing your work forward. Let go and allow your art to take place without preconceived notions. The journey an artist strives for is to arrive at a place where discoveries happen. Leave your comfort zone and enter a world of exciting and expressive painting.This class will focus on paintings that have light, color, and attitude! Working on various exercises, we will explore underpainting techniques, mark making, and significant color choices to push a painting further. Learn to simplify your approach, and develop a personal style. Individual attention and group discussions of student work and contemporary painting practices. All mediums welcome. You bring the supplies you want to work in. Drop-ins welcome! Masks and social distancing required. 6 Mondays in 4 sessions: Jun 21-July 26 Aug 2-Sep 13 no class Sep 6 Sep 20-Oct 25 Nov 1-Dec 6 1-4pm Art Studio $275/$234 members About the instructor: Ed Chesnovitch, a Cape Cod artist, is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and has studied extensively at The Art Students League of New York, and the Cape Cod School of Art, Provincetown, Massachusetts. He is an elected Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA) in Gramercy Park, New York City, and both a Signature Member and past President of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. His work is featured in the book Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: Images of Land and Sea, by Deborah Forman, 2013 Schiffer Publishing, and he was juried twice into Pastel Journal Magazine's top 100 pastelists of the year. He is represented on Cape Cod at Left Bank Gallery, Wellfleet and Orleans, MA. His work is included in corporate, public and private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
