Frank Gardner: A Cape Cod Reunion Frank Gardner has been painting Cape Cod for the past twenty years. Because of travel restrictions, last summer was the first in that time he was unable to join his friends with his paint box and camera. We are delighted that Gardner will be visiting Orleans Modern Art for a viewing of his newest work Friday, July 23, 5-8 p.m. Wine and will be served, and the event is free and open to the public Gardner moved to San Miguel De Allende in 1989, shortly after finishing his studies at Rhode Island School of Design. It was there he developed his skills as an impressionist landscape painter. He opened his first art gallery, and over the next several years developed an excellent artistic reputation in Mexico and the United States. For the past twenty years, his friendship with artists in the area lead to annual visits to Eastham, and many painting trips with artists to Maine, Utah, Mexico and Provincetown. He paints daily in the field and in his studio in San Miguel, and offers workshops teaching out-door painting techniques in the tradition of art colonies of the past. Frank has been an inspirational instructor, mentor and friend whose influence reflects the historical artistic community in places like the Cape and San Miguel. Gardner's exhibition will be on display at Orleans Modern Art July 23through July 29.
