Handbuilt Home & Garden, Summer 2021
Add to my Calendar Get DirectionsPrint This Event
There is a renewed interest in handbuilding these days! Many people have discovered they can make a variety of items by hand that cannot be made on the potter's wheel. Using a combination of the handbuilding techniques, including pinching, coiling and slabs, students will work with instructor Holly Heaslip to make items for the home and garden. Projects will be provided, their techniques demonstrated, and students are encouraged to put their own voice into the piece. Students are also welcome to create their own projects and will be supported with instruction. All levels of experience are welcome. Tools will be provided although students are welcome to bring their favorites if they have them. Each student will receive a 25lb bag of clay that includes glazing and firing. Additional clay can be purchased from the studio. Students also have access to Open Studio free of charge for the duration of the class. 6 Thursdays, July 15-Aug 19 2-4:30pm McGraw Ceramics Studio $248/$211 members About the Instructor Holly Heaslip, B.S.
