The Alden Kindred of America, Inc., proudly announces the recipients of the 14th annual Speak for Thyself Awards, who, in the spirit of Mayflower passenger Priscilla Mullins Alden, “speak for themselves,” and have promoted extraordinary outcomes on behalf of themselves and others. Embodying the values of courage, advocacy and commitment this year’s awardees are the executive director of Pilgrim Hall Museum Donna Curtin, president of Duxbury 2020 Jayne Talmage O’Farrell, and Duxbury high school graduate and Alden House guide Maya Stahl as the “Aspiring Priscilla.” The awards will also recognize Susan B. Anthony expert and librarian Mary Huth, Rochester, NY and actor, historian and women’s advocate Lynne McKenney Lydick, Worcester, MA. The 2021 Speak Awards will be presented at a dinner on Thursday, August 5, from 4:30 – 7:30 on the grounds of Alden House Historic Site. Tickets are available at Now in its 14th year, the Speak awards have recognized almost 50 women who are pioneers, advocates, community organizers, politicians, and business leaders, women whose daily lives reflect the courage and independence of Priscilla Alden, as one of America’s founding mothers. Tickets for the Speak for Thyself Awards Dinner are $75; reservations are required by August 2. Proceeds benefit the Alden House Historic Site.
