New Plimmoth Gard kicks off season at Alden House

Take a trip back in time as the New Plimmoth Gard re-enacts a 17th century training day at the Alden House Historic Site on Saturday, June 5, Noon to 2 pm. Pike and musket drills will bring to life the early days of Plymouth Colony when all male residents between the ages of 16 and 65 were required to belong to the local militia and participate in training days. The New Plimmoth Gard is a group of reenactors who share the history of Plymouth Colony through their participation in parades and reenactment events. Alden House will also be open for guided tours between noon and 4 pm. The museum chronicles the story of Mayflower passengers John and Priscilla Alden and their descendants. Designated a National Historic Landmark, it is owned and operated by the Alden Kindred of America.
